20 Pin to 24 Pin converters reliable?

I am looking at a great power supply, but it's 20 pin. Would using a 20 pin to 24 pin converter reduce performance in any way? Thanks!

i wouldnt think so if the coverter was rated for the amps the psu is sending through it, it should be

I was wondering if I could put my 20 pin atx cable into a 24 pin socket on my motherboard, or do I have to buy a 20 pin to 24 pin converter?

It will not reduce performance, at least I don't think it should. I have one myself...they are relatively cheap and do the job well.
