200 MB/s write speed instead of 520 MB/s WTF IS GOING ON !????

Hi all,

I bought the Highpoint Rocket 620 card from Scan.co.uk after they recommended it to me, and geez what a waste of money ! I am using it with a Patriot WildFire 240 GB SSD which has read speeds of 555 MB/s, and write of 520 MB/s..... but i am only getting the speeds shown below in the screenshot !! So I am down around 150 MB/s on read speeds.... and down 320 MB/s on write speeds !!

Can anyone advise what I can do to solve this problem? I have looked at getting other sata 3 controller cards but i really cant see any reviews that say which is a good on to get...


I am using Win7 64 bit ultimate, ASUS P6T7 WS SuperComputer mobo, Intel i7 920 CPU, Corsair Dominator GT RAM @ 2000mhz, and patriot Wildfire 240 GB SSD as main drive.

**I have just completed a fresh install of windows and have updated the mobo BIOS to the latest version**

Are you using the correct achi driver and is the port the ssd is on set to achi in the bios?

Nevermind, didn't realize you are using a PCI card.

Did you install all the correct drivers with the card, along with the ACHI drivers?

Just a quick question, did you happen to make sure your SATA cable is 6Gb/s (SATA III) compatible? I bought a SATA III SDD and accidently used a SATA 3Gb/s (SATA II) compatible cable not a SATA III cable and got poor speeds like you are getting.
