so just to update, the build came out with no issues at all. but once I got stuff running I came across the "EnableUlps" issue that is associated with ATI CrossfireX going into power savings mode.

to explain the issue, the ULPS feature simply downclocks the 2nd gpu when you're in 2D mode (i.e. desktop functions. non-gaming.)

the problem in my case however was that it started giving me hick-ups during benchmarks and gameplay. To me, it just wasn't working correctly

I've tried MSI afterburner to override the clock settings, tried AMD Override, even tried to edit the registry entries for the ULPS feature with no luck

what helped was Sapphire Trixx which has the feature to refresh the clock to stock settings every start-up and also has a feature to disable the ULPS function of the new ATI drivers.

so this is just to help anybody out there that would come across this issue during CrossfireX mode

Thanks Sapphire!
