I read the PSU 101, but i think i am missing something.. say my mobo im getting is 24 pin, and my PSU is 20+4 pin, that will work correct? And visa versa, if my PSU is 24 n my mobo is 20+4?

sorry this has been asked 900000 times im sure.. just a yes or no and any thought on it.

Ok. The extra 4 pins is for a 24 pin mobo (usually.. Some PSUs are designed for P4s and the 4 extra pins are for the 12v that the CPU requires.. Just to confuse you all to hell). So. If you have a 20+4 pin PSU, they are for the 24 pin boards. There is no such thing as a 20+4 pin board unless you are talking about the P4 as I just mentioned in this post, so you won't have to worry about that.

Hope that helps clear things up... (I know, clear as mud, right?)

24 pin = 20+4 pin

The only difference between these is that the + 4pins can be removed and used on an older 20pin board.

Good to have 20+4 main power socket, since it will fit a 20 pin or 24 pin motherboard, without requiring you to get a $3.99 socket adapter.
