22" acer AL2216W weak colors

I just bought a 22" Acer Monitor (AL2216W). I know this monitor has better colors than what it shows. I just cant find them. Would a better graphics card bring this monitor to life?

I noticed the colors on the monitor menu are very rich and clear which leads me to believe I need to update my comp.

I have a Dell Dimension 2400 that is about 3-4 years old. The picture fits the screen properly, it's just the colors are on the weak side, not very vibrant.

Also, what would be a good card to use with my system? I don't game, just mostly mess around on the net. I just want my new LCD to work like it should.

Make sure the resolution is set right and you have current drivers. Of course a better card will get you better graphics but as far as basic appearance of your OS, there will not be a huge difference between onboard and high end, colors are colors, video card pertains more to graphics.
