22 inch Monitor

So I been playing with the monitor in my sig to see if I would like this setup.

I am curious I know little of LCD so know some good links to learn up on them?


Also I was thinking of getting this one.

The only real difference appears to be 5ms vs 2ms....I hear 2ms = the best out.

Mind you I don't want to pass this resolution as I read this is the "line" between mid to highend systems (as I upgrade once every year and half or so unless I can craigslist a cheap upgrade)

I'd probably go with the Asus, if for nothing else, the brand. The specs are identical... I wouldn't be surprised if the response time was even the same (the Asus being gray to gray...though I hear that's more accurate than other methods). Either way, the Asus gets my vote.

BTW, I have an Acer 21.5". While I'm mostly pleased with it, it's also my third :P

Oh...one more thing. You sure you want 1680x1050. I'd suggest going to 1920x1080 so you can play HD videos with no black bars or anything.
 
Well I stream all my stuff to a 32 inch LCD (so I can view in my perfect condition found lazy-boy but its a ugly pea green) which is 1360x768 so it wont matter and I don't watch movies in my gaming chair only my lazi-boy.


Now before you knock the TV my old man found 2 of them with minor issues so you can't complain about the price.
I am more worried about needing to upgrade every 6 months because I went to high on resolution. I heard that 1680x1050 is the end of the "middle ground".


Then again I also read at from each jump its 5FPS drop is this true or only in certain situations?
 
I see well thanks so far. If anyone has more info please post away....price is not a total issue but pros-cons between the two resolutions are always appreciated.
My only wonder is if 24 would be to big. If you gotta pay more for a higher resolution might as well get the extra 2 inches as well.


I need to go bug a PC shop and play with the sizes I think.

^^ Physically seeing the differences will do alot more than we can tell you

I say do as you said and visit some stores. I did this before I bought my monitor also. I went to BB and checked out a bunch of monitors then, went home and bought one on newegg. Just dont be tempted and overpay at a store.

LOL you don't know me friend. I got my 1440x900 monitor for 2 CRT monitors (trade) I found my 32 inch TV and fixed it (for free) then I got a free recliner that looks like pea green.

Anything about me shouts "I overpay"? :P:P


My old man taught me right about being cheap....now if I could only find the female version of me id be set for life.

If you go for 24 inch--the 1920x1200 resolution ones are amazing--my friend got one and it's huge!
