I am in the market to replace my current monitor. I currently have a Samsung Syncmaster 213T, which is non widescreen, but would like to upgrade to a larger wide screen monitor. I use my computer mostly for gaming, and a little bit of photoshop on the side, not to serious though, more of just a hobby. I have narrowed my choice of monitors to these two.

24" Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP

or

28" Hannspree HF-289HJB

My uncle has the the Dell 2408WFP and it has a very nice picture, he bought it mainly for using with Photoshop and Lightroom. It is definitely better quality than the Hanspree, but the Hanspree also has a very large screen, 4 more inches. It also has a faster response time of 3ms compared to the dell's 6ms. The dell also has more connections, plus the functionality of it also being a TV (not that important to me).

Another important factor is the price of course. Here are the cheapest prices I could find of the two before shipping.

24" Dell Ultrasharp 2408WFP = $549

28" Hannspree HF-289HJB = $400

So should I go with the cheaper but larger screen or spend the extra $150 for the better quality but smaller screen?

God dial up sucks-.- took me like 5 min to load up newegg rofl(I was going to post same monitor but I gave up because someone probably all ready posted it which you did)

I have looked at that model, but after looking into it more and reading reviews, the monitor has lots of problems. The Hannspree HF-289HJB that I posted is the upgraded model of the Hanns·G HG-281DPB. (Hanns-G is the same as Hannspree) that fixes a lot of its issues.

I know that the 24" is expensive, but it is hands down the best 24" on the market.

Well, actually that would be this nec;)

If im not mistaken though, geoff(omega) has that hanns-g display or one very similar, its what he won the $5000 from newegg on writing a review=/

lol, that Nec is pretty nice, so I stand corrected. That 28" Hannspree HF-289HJB is pretty rare on the net, and I know they used to sell them at costco and bestbuy. I was hoping someone here had used or seen one themselves. I think a 28" monster would be awesome for my set up! :D

This hanns-g is similar to the one i posted earlier but a newer model:

I have also looked at that one and the only difference is it has height adjustment, the actual monitor itself is still the same as the previous posted one. The Hanspree I posted is actually the newest of the 3 I believe, but I would also be willing to go for the Hans-G instead, since it is basically the same.

I'm just wondering if someone out there has had any experience with these monitors?
