I haven't seen much talk about Dell's coupons, but they usually have some great deals. I'll try to keep you guys updated on what they are offering if anyone is interested.

Right now they have the following deals for laptops:

25% off $999+ Inspiron Laptops - Expires 6/12/08 (Code: 66Z2MXLFSZF43P)
30% off $1299+ Inspiron Laptops - Expires 6/12/08 (Code: H873GJC2846CV5)
25% off $1599+ XPS M1330/M1530 Laptops - Expires 6/12/08 (Code: 0VXPPHRHPXHGTM)

lol-nothing wrong with there laptops!!!
In my experience Dell LAPTOPS suck. Dell desktops seem to last much longer. My Inspiron 9300 (in sig) didn't even last 3 years. The i8200, my dad had didn't last two years. Not inexpensive problems either, motherboard, cpu, hard drive, the list goes on. No more dells for me.

we have them at school and they are for that but for anything else, like my personal use i would not get one.

I totally agree!! They are good for businesses and schools and thats about it!! I recently talked someone out of getting one and instead talked them into an ACER and I am positive he made a good decision and is now hooked on his Acer. As for the laptops well I dont have much experience with dells laptops but, im sure they are just as crappy as the desktops!

Geoff posted a good-will gesture so any interested folks could partake in some $ saving, and you guys jump like a pack of rabid dogs with the badmouthing.

Cripes, guys...really...

Edit; Anyway, on-topic. My wife's Inspiron 8200 she's had since '02 and used as a desktop replacement every day is just now starting to see some hardware issues. I'd say that's pretty damned reliable. It must bring a tear to some of your eyes knowing that her 'POS Dell' continues to outlive your custom-builts.

LOL Im sorry you feel that way. I guess your falling for Dells reel in scheme too!! They are lowering their prices right now b/c they are getting sued right now!!

Guys. Dell is one of the leading computer sellers. The guy was trying to tell people about extreme bargains. Not a fight fest over if dell is a good company.

Their laptops are fairly good. I'm using their E1505 right now. I've only had a few problems with it in the past 2+ years.. Needed to replace its keyboard, buy two new chargers, all the non-slip feet are gone, one of the USB slots stopped working, had to buy a new battery and the CD/DVD drive is a bit screwy now. My Tab key started to pop off this last week so I might need to get another new keyboard or just super glue it into place.

I'm currently using a Latitude D 510 (dell) and it is working fine... the only thing wrong is that dells have a low CPU and with vista not enought ram... so that is a bit of a down but you got a new dell and put XP on it... it would be very good!

I have a I8200 since 02 that I have abused and never failed. Now I have a XPS 1710 that I love except I didn't realize just how big it would be.

It's not alright for them to come in and give there opinions about a brand not being good, but when it's about the brand being good it's alright?

Omega is giving people some ultra savings regardless of weather or not it's a good brand.
