I just got my Asus 2560 x 1440 monitor but i cant figure out how to tell my gpu to change my res to 2560 x 1440. I went to change res from the desktop but the max it allows me is 1920 x 1080. Also how do I calibrate it?

Ok i got 2560 x 140 working, I was using an hdmi cable but i switched it for a dvi
 
Only HDMI 1.3 and up supports above 1080p resolutions. I know that HDMI 1.2 is quite common, so might be that.
DVI is master race, just behind DisplayPort.
