What performance should I expect from this resolution when running 2 GTX 690? Some people have told me that I would gain performance because resolution bottlenecks these gpus at 1080p. Is this true? Thanks

Your games will all run very smooth, even on that resolution. Maybe it sometimes drops his fps, but not by much. But thats 2K $?!?
I also don't know it has microstutter problems or not...

resolution bottleneck? i think whoever said that is retarded...that's saying it will give higher fps because it's processing a more detailed image/world, and possibly sending more info through the pci-e lanes, AFAIK that person know nothing going by common sense, but some things on computers are stupid like dat.

Jonny, whom said it is right. A 690, even a 680 is held back at 1080p. At a certain point you pay for more power than could ever be used at 1080p, cause you end up with 200+ FPS on max with everything, which is not really good for anything.

Yep, you can overheat your gpu playing too long on unlimited fps. That's why they came up with vsync or 60fps limiters.

exactly, that is not a bottleneck, bottlenecks are hardware limitations holding something back (although the resolution/monitor could be considered that), not the thing limiting itself to conserve power and reduce heat.

true, i had the cards overheat once and freeze my pc when playing with no fps limiter. i should be able to get 60 fps at this resolution right? i emailed nvidia too and they mentioned that one gtx 690 is way too much for 1080p let alone 2. :D
ah yes gotta love those $2000 at work heheheh

Dang it, you were playing at 1080p with those two GPUs? I thin you will be getting a kilo FPS at 1080p :P you need higher resolution than 1600p to take those GPU at quad to the limit.

not wondering if you get 300+ fps on ultra with that set up... Why are you asking though?
