2GB in dual channel - 667mhz or 800mhz?

Will it really matter with the speed difference if it's in dual channel? I'll be getting kingston hyperx or a 2gb kit from corsair. either of the corsair speeds are more expensive. My question is: is there a noticable difference? gaming and general use. I'll be overclocking soon too, thanks to scout.

The corsair 2gb-800 kit is around $70AU, the kingston hyperx 2gb-800 is around $50AU. I'll probably go for the kingston due to price.

PS: Scout, I have money now. PM the cost of shipping for mobo and your paypal.

I don't understand the question

If you buy 800mhz and put it in Dual channel, you'll have 800mhz dual channel ram
If you buy 667mhz and put it in Dual channel, you'll have 667mhz dual channel ram

what i meant was, which will give me better performance. didn't i make that clear?

Oh I thought you said the kingston was cheaper?
Anyway you'll get automatic dual channel as soon as you plug in any same ram to the dual channel ram slots
Glad you decided on 800, I hope your motherboard specs confirm that corsair ram is perfectly compatible

i have used the ram you have bought and the kingston hyper x and both ram is very good...

i have built a machine with 667mhz ram in it then put some 800mhz and noticed no difference, however when you plan on overclocking i would go with the 800mhz!

overclocking sorts the good ram out from the rubish

thanks for the info. I'll prolly oc the ram to 1066 along with my cpu and bump my cpu to 2.8-3ghz
