2nd hand computer

Recentely I bought a dell Dimension xps T500 OS XP-PRO from ebay, It has a hard
drive that is asking for a password when the os boots up. I want to reformat hard drive
and install 98 SE but can’t get past administator password. I cant get a hold of the seller
and I am stuck with a computer that I cant do anything on. Let me know if you guys have
any good ideas. Thanks in advance.

Open the case and remove the battery for a few minutes and then replace it. This should reset to factory defaults.

If you have a windows boot floppy, insert it and use fdisk to wipe your drive, then just do a fresh install of 98SE
