So yesterday afternoon the internet was working fine, then it just went out. I looked and the power light was the only one on and then the others followed and then all blank again. It did this several times so I called AT&T and the guy did some tests and said it sounds like the modem going bad since it was cycling off and on and not staying solid.
I told him all about how they have already told me that it was the modem a couple other times and it wasn't. But he said it shouldn't cycle that many times. He said since mine is 5 years old it might be better to get a new, so they are going to send me one for free but I pay shipping.
I asked if a hard reset would work and so I tried that, at first it didn't seem to take because it it done the same thing but it finally came on and stay on.
Also have a problem with it asking to reboot the system a lot, sometimes once every 2 weeks to 2 or 3 times a day.
Will the new modem be better?
I still don't know if the old one is bad. My nephew that lives with us said he is surprised that it last this long for the model that it is.
