Would guys recommend 2x1gb OCZ Platnium: Cas: 2; Timing: 2-3-2-5. for $232
or 4x512mb OCZ Performance; Cas: 2; Timing: 2-3-3-6. for $230. I am not at all concerned with price between these two, nor future upgradability. Simply: Which one with better performance, faster, and more overclockable.
Link for 4x512mb (2 of those).
Link for 2x1gb

with 2x1gb you can upgrade to another 2gb in the future :)

if they are all running in dual channel i'd take the 4x512mb.

I would recommend you to use four 512MB RAM sticks because as far as I know, that's more overclocker friendly. Reastically speaking, there is no current need for 2GB of RAM but it never hurts I guess. You could even consider just getting 1GB for now and overclock (my situation). Only when you would feel the need should you upgrade. For that money you could get something else ;) like a better graphics card etc.

JAN :D

Ya, maybe I'll just get nice 1GB, like, that pre-overclocked stuff... DDR600 or whatever. does 2x1gb run slow though?

do you need that much ram? but id go for 2 sticks
well, 1GB for me isnt enough, norton takes up a great deal, and when i play HL2 it takes up about 400-450MB. And if i want some more apps running in the background, i would need 2GB.

But if i were you, i would get 2GB.

late for that, lol. this thread is like, 2 weeks old. might get another gig for christmas though. nother gig and another 250 sata to put on raid 0, that's be sweet.
