3.0GB/s hard drive jumper

I finally put my whole computer together and installed and updated everything. Fully functional and working. yay! However now that I think about my computer, I realized I forgot to take off the little jumper on the bottom of my Hard drive that is limiting the speed from 3.0 GB/s to 1.5GB/s. If I were to remove that jumper right now would it be okay? Would have I have to reformat my Hard drive or something? I would really hate to reformat and reinstall everything again... :(

I also got a question. Does SATA = 1.5GB/s and SATA II = 3.0 GB/s?

taking the jumper off would not effect the information on the HDD at all.

And I think you're correct about the SATA/SATA-II thing. I researched it and thats what I've come up with.
