3 loud beeps on laptop

hi im after some help...

when i switch my laptop on i get a black blank screen and 3 loud beeps the first being slightly longer than the rest.

i have took the memory out and tried one at a time but the beeps for them are lower in tone than the beeps im refering to. so i dont think its the memory.

it is an hp dv2000.

Sounded like he said 3 beep codes (1 long and 2 short).
