Currently I am running a PIII 766 Mhz w/ 766 MB RAM. So I am looking to upgrade mainly to a faster unit for mainly web browsing. No gaming.

I would like to spend the least amount of money and put together a decent combo I think from newegg w/ free shipping on all parts.

Already have PSU, fans, HDD, DVDRW, video card. Any advice/comments appreciated. thanks.

I would not get an ECS brand motherboard. Gigabyte makes great quality motherboards. The GIGABYTE GA-MA78LM-S2H is a decent motherboard. I just bought it and would advise it.

The GIGABYTE GA-MA770T-UD3P is an even better ATX size motherboard but you would need to get DDR3 RAM for it:

CORSAIR XMS3 4 gigabytes (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) RAM - $80

What type of video card do you have?

Everything is good except motherboard.

GIGABYTE GA-MA78LM-S2H - $59.99

ASUS M4A77D - $74.99

I'd go for the ASUS I gave you above.

The ASUS is good, but DO NOT GET THE GIGABYTE. Only 2 DIMMS for RAM on the gigabyte. On the ASUS, I am not sure if the ability to have ddr 2 1200 ram along with 1 extra SATA port is worth $25, espeically if your not gaming. For those $25 you can get a 8600GT video card, then you have the ability of gaming.

In short, I would recommend getting the ECS mainly because you don't need the features that the ASUS offers. The rest of the build looks good!

Why get a board that has onboard video when you just stated you have a gpu already?
Is your HDD sata or ide? What about your ODD, stata or ide?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103724

Motherboard- ASUS M4A77TD- $70
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131603

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231277

How is this config? FOR A BAREBONE $$$ CHEAPEST $$$ UPGRADE SYSTEM. I've got a video card, HDD, etc... Also, you will notice all the parts have FREE SHIPPING. My upgrade will not include a part that has a shipping charge.

The only extra charge I intend on paying is the 2 USPS stamps for the 2 mail-in rebates; approx $1.00 US.

Thank you for future help folks.
