32 bit or 64 bit Win?

Aloha! So I just scooped up a used (couple year old) Acer Aspire S3 391-6616 cuz I needed something cheap, small, and lightweight. It has an I3 1.4 ghz(2nd gen), 4gb ram, and a hybrid drive 20gb ssd/330 hdd. ... The thing is being shipped with Win 8.1 64 bit. My question is... Would I be better off wiping it and installing a 32 bit os seeing as though it's already maxed out at 4gb ram? I'll be using it primarily for streaming and office but may in a pinch attempt doing some gopro quick video editing as well. Would a 32 bit or 64 bit os allow my system to run more efficiently? .... Thanks for taking the time to read this! And thanks for your help!

64-bit runs more efficiently and can take full advantage of the 64-bit architecture of today's modern CPU's. There's no reason to install 32-bit Windows on anything these days.

Thanks! Makes sense to me. :) I'm still going to be pulling Win 8 off and installing win 7 64 bit. :) Win 8 drives me nuts!!!

I'm going to recommend keeping Windows 8. I didn't like it too much at first, but these days I run it both at work and on my personal desktop. If you don't like the start screen, just download and install Classic Shell. Aside from that, it behaves just like Windows 7.

I have Win 8 on a notebook(w/touchscreen) I've owned for about 6 months. I can't stand it.I dont use ANY of the features that 8 supposedly has over 7. I cant stand the start screen, find that most of the Win 8 apps are useless, and I find it to be similar to vista in that it seems to be a system hog. Seems slow, inefficient, and overall a horrible o. S. Keep in mind that was with a touchscreen... I can't imagine using it without one. To me that would be a nightmare. :)

The footprint of 8 isn't nearly as bad as Vista was. And like I said, if you hate the start screen, just install ClassicShell.

Also just make sure you've done the update to 8.1. It's got performance improvements over 8.

This 13.3 inch"ultrabook" is one of the earlier ones... It came out the end of 2012... And yes it's maxed out at 4gb of ram.

What specific model?

Personally 32/64 shouldn't matter much on 4 GB. 32 will give you a slightly lesser capacity but 32-bit applications will also use 20-30% less memory on average without the WOW64 abstraction layer.
