ok so currently i have the 32 bit vista on my pc buts its the upgraded from vista not the full retail verion.. so im gett the 64 bit upgrade software in the mail soon... how would i go about upgrading the 32 to 64.... is it as simple as just putting the disc in or what ?

You can not directly install it via the 32bit OS so it will have to be done as a boot disk. Doesn't change anything.

Just remember to back up all your important files before doing a clean install of Vista.

i'd honestly stay 32 bit, unless you do a lot of multitrack video editing with realtime effects processing.

nothing else really requires that much ram/ processing leaves

not to mention the amd 64 and intel core/core2 only have emulated 64 bit processing. It's still not going to give you the full performance increase you'd see with a dedicated 64 bit IBM processor
