32 versus 64

I just bought a used laptop. It has a 32bit version of windows on it. I want to go to a 64bit version if possible. I know that the CPU needs to be 64bit capable. Here is the CPU.

Note instruction set! Is this where I would look? Also, what else would I consider in order to determine if I can go to 64bit?

Most CPUs since about 2005 have supported 64 bit addressing.

You should be fine to install a 64 bit variant of Windows.

What's the max ram of the laptop? If it only has a max ram of 4gb then it's really not worth it in my opinion.

According to Belarc its 8G.

What else would I need to look at to see if a pc or laptop can handle 64bit OS? In addition to my laptop, I would like to know for the future situations.

As long as the processor is 64bit then you are good to go.

Sorry to be such a bother. Just want to make sure I'm looking at these specs properly. Its my first time dealing with processor specs.
