I was just wondering if anybody here does any 3D modeling, rendering and/or game modding. What programs do you use? And in my oppinion it would be pretty nice to get a forum here on computer graphics. I'm gonna list my software list

Milkshape 3D
Blender
Wings 3D
3D Studio Max 7
Maya 6.5 Unlimited

Those who are interested in doing some nice HDRI renders could check out this site (mostly for 3DS MAX 7, nice renders)

and if you use MAYA check out this tutorial (registering required)

I know this is off 2005 and its nearly 2007 but ive just started to use Blender and i use After affects which is 2d compositing but i think it would be a good idea to have a forum dedicated to something like this. im sure many people do this and it would create some good awareness. but no on get on there high horse about this being from 2005 :-)

I started teaching myself 3ds Max a while back, with the help of some tutorial vids, I honestly don't know whether there's enough people here to warrant its own section. If it were combined with all computer generated art (photoshopping, different packages, etc), then perhaps, although I still doubt there would be much activity.

One thing that really inspired me to learn was This Wonderful Life by Liam Kemp. You can watch the animated short here. He used one 1.4 Athlon to model it all, and produced it entirely in 3ds max.

I do 3d modeling in school using inventor, it is really easy if you know what your doing and i know what i am doing:D :D :D
