3dmarks world record broken

Ya well, with my rig, I'm runnin Windows 3.1, with 1MB ram, and teh worlds first graphics card....and I couln't even come close to those....but it'd be fun to try....:)

i wonder what he could do with liqued nitrogen cooling, and those new 7800's with 512mb
 
well.. i cant say that requires a lot of skill,.. all you need is recources and everybody can do it.

tough, impressive score. ( but i dont really care about 3dmark scores :P )
 
In one of those pics, there video cards are completely iced over, and there are water droplets on some other parts of the card, how could that not damage it? wouldnt water short it out?
 
most cards and mobo's have a thin plastic coating over it. ( over the conductor rails. )
and.. if pure water, so only H2O is used for the cooling, you wouldnt have any trouble eiter, since it isolates.

You've never seen someone running an old machine before? (I have my doubts as to if that's the actual machine but I could care less)

I don't see what the big deal is, IMO 3DMark is a waste of time. It's like those guys that overclocked an x1800 to 1GHz core in 2D. Nobody cares because that speed in 2D is like buying a quad opteron system to surf the web.

It's not a big deal. :P I would just be amazed someone would still be using such an OLD machine.

I had a freind running a similar rig in uni 2 years ago, pretty sure he still has it. It does everthing he needs it to :)

Lets all get something into perspective, benchmarks are all well and good to drag to your friends down the pub over a few jars. But its a kind of law of deminishing returns passed a certain point

15,000 odd on 05 eh considering my laptop does about 2000 thats pretty good, i want to see a laptop break the 5000 barrier anyone have one
