4 channel ram?

ok, dual channel lets your ram run in seperate channels, ultimately increasing your performance. my question is, if you have a dual channel compatible motherboard, will it run 4 dimms in 4 channels?
how does this work?:D
 
As in quad-channel? No. As kof2000 said, it works in pairs, and you can't add 2 pairs together. Depending on what mobo you have, if you will in all 4 DIMM's you will be back in single-channel (more modern mobos will let you still run dual-channel if all DIMM's are full however.)

64bit-bus + 64-bit = 128-bit bus for DC-Mode. I do not think there is a 256-bit bus for DDR like quad-channel.
 
lol no they should make a hard drive out of flash memory. no moving parts! you could overclock your harddrive although it seems a little impractical, but if they figured out a practical way to do it...

that would be freakin expensive, i think a 1gb flash drive is like 150 or so.

lets say 80gb * 150=12000:eek:
 
my ram uses active cooling--> some peoples doesnt. for instance, my dads kingston ram. also, they would mass produce them. how many people do you know with that 1gb flash drive? if they made them in all computers, companies could compete with their prices and eventually prices would go down.
now THAT would be sweet.
i mean really people would just JUMP on that performance!
