i write on behalf of my brother, who has gone through 4 motherboards in 15 months. he gets his pc fixed at some shop where they continue to install refurbished asus motherboards. the first two times, the pc died and they stated that the motherboard fried. the last two times were new asus mobos and it fried once after he installed a 4-port hub and the last time it fried two weeks after he installed a gig of ram. the new ram was the same kind as was in there, but he was just adding more into a asus mobo that technically can handle up to 2 gb. any ideas? i'm thinking about removing mobo battery for 30 minutes to see if it was scrambled. but 4 mobos???
