How does using SLI put strain on your motherboard? Sure it will use more bandwidth from the PCI-E busses and it may require more processing by the northbridge, but it's not like it will cause the motherboard to stop working any sooner then without using SLI. Both using SLI and overclocking are great ways to improve performance, and get more for your dollar.Cool! But its a tad expensive for a motherboard =) and I hear that SLi puts strain on the motherboard so I'm not really into SLi AND overclocking
No it would only require 4, one for each card. Unless you mean it will take up 8 slots...quad sli requires 8 slotsunless you're talking about dual gpu cards.

sli requires 2 slots so 4x2 = 8 slots unless you're talking about using 7950gx2 quads.

lol, IntelCrazy is right.SLI requires two slots because there are 2 CARDS!!!
theres no bridge for four cards though. so it is still 2 sliand if you looking at the specs it is 2 x16 and 2 x8 slots.
judging from the length between the slots i doubt you can sli 4 x 8800s theres no space for itmaybe the 7950gx2, how big are those.
