4 RAM slots, only 2 working

I have four slots for RAM but I only have two working. My mobo is a K8N Neo 4 which, I believe has capacity for up to two gigs so all 4 should be operational. Can anyone tell me how to activate the other two?
 
look in the manual and see there is usually something like a table which guides you how to put the ram
specially in dual channel mode
are the 4 sticks identical ?
 
Can't find my manual...the RAM is compatible, I've tried all three sticks and they all work fine...so long as they are in the two working slots. No matter which stick I use none of them work in these two particular slots
 
some mobos will only exept 2 or 4 sticks not three if you put all three in do you get a beeping noise if so then you will have to buy a 4th stick
 
Have you got the right type (ddr226,333,400)????
and yeah dual channel, it depends which 2 you put it in, channel 1,2,3,4
 
When a computer fails and you believe it's motherboard related, first thing to do is a little thing I like to call GTTMMN... ok, I just gave it the name now; it means: Get To The Motherboard Manual Now!!!
Most of the times you are doing something the Manual would have told you not to do if you had read it.

Look at your motherboard carefully and locate the Brand and Model Number of your M/B.
Go to the manufacturer website and download the respective Manual.
Read all necessary instructions regarding RAM, see if anything is off with your setup and correct.
If that fails, e-mail their customer support with the issue.
 
some of the mobos only allow you to use 2 at a time, not all 4, it could be one of those mobos, the reason for this is so you can use DDR or DDR2, do all 4 of the slots look identical, if they use differant ram, than that's probobly the reason, if not, I have no idea.
 
i agree, read the motherboard manual, and read up the configurations for the ram before installing anything
