400mhz and 800mhz

I have 400mhz ram in my computer now. That is what came with it. If I install 800mhz memory now, will it cause conflicts etc?

yes. It is a different type of ram the 800MHz. DDR400 is what you have and DDR2 is the 800MHz.

You can't, unless the 800MHz stuff you are looking at is the same type as the 400MHz (probably 200MHz DDR and the 800MHz is probably 400MHz DDR2) You might have RAMBUS as well, we need your motherboard type or your currently installed RAM or your chipset to narrow it down

I do have RAMBUS.

My motherboard type is a Intel D850GB

So, what should I do a search for?

As long as you have the right RAMBUS you should be fine installing any of it Just be sure to follow the RAMBUS rules (http://www.rambus.com/products/rdram/rdram_faq.aspx).
