Hey there, sorry to bug you all with such a basic question but I'm having a problem connecting a newly purchased power supply and think I may have purchased the wrong part, but before I buy a new one I'd like to be certain of what it is that I need.
Currently I'm using an Antec Basiq 350 on an Asus K8V SE Deluxe motherboard.
I've upgraded my video card (to a 3850 HD) and wanted to upgrade my powersupply to something over 450.
I purchased a TruePower 2.0 model: TP2-550EPS12V.
When I was attempting to install it I noticed that it doesn't appear to have a 4pin 12v power connector.
The motherboard I'm using is a 20pin version and it has 4 additional pins on the other side of the board. However the 4 pin port doesn't match the additional 4 pins on the 20/4 connector from the power supply.
The power supply does have an 8 pin connector which can be split into 2x4pins which have the same alignment as my motherboard 4 pin connector, however attempts to use either of these 4 pinners didn't do anything.
Does that make sense?
What is the name for this 12v connector that I need so I can be certain my next power supply is appropriate?
Also, any recommendations on a powersupply that does have it and is over 450?
Any info would help!
Thanks very much.
Geoff
