4x512 vs. 2x1GB

I'm thinking about upgrading from 1024MB (2x512) to 2048MB of RAM in my gaming computer (specs listed below). Is there any reason that I should get 2x1GB sticks of RAM instead of just 4x512mb (in terms of performance?)
 
I believe if you get the 2 sticks instead of 4 you will be able to use dual channel, which should speed up the ram a bit!
 
thats near enough right. Both would work in duel channel. 2X 1gb would work as would 4x 512mb. I would say get another 2 512 sticks.
 
dont do 4x512, because thats what i did, and guess what, it ran dual channel, but at DDR333 and 2T timing...
