5.1 set and card

Being a gamer, I decided that my integrated sound wasn't going to cut it. I really like Altec Lansing and I ws looking at this 5.1 set and card. Just before I buy it, I want to make sure there are no pitfalls.

Wouldnt you be better off with the ZS and considering its just a couple bucks more ... worth it?

Is it better quality or just more channels? It's a 7.1 card on Newegg.

For $5 more you get 2db more SNR (and two more channels)...worth it for $5
