5+gb of ram being used with nothing open

Ever since yesterday my computer has been really slow, i opened up task manager and closed all my programs in the background and visible ones, but there were 5 or more gb of ram being used. I have tried many different methods to free up some memory but nothing works.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Subtract the 'cached' since it's not being used other than to store extra data that would otherwise be free.

Some other sort of process list would help more since 3.5 GB utilized really isn't that outlandish.

Probably worth doing some malware scans and similar anyway.
