$500 for information. Is this legal?

This is no Joke! The Real Deal, you get the info, the money is yours. It has been like pulling teeth getting computer smart people like yourselfs Interested! This person is knowingly leaving false messages on this site & forwarding them to child & familey services in order to make interested parties possibley lose visitation of miner children. I need name and isp address of this person, leaving no doubt who sent them. :confused: Please HELP! Your comment's would be appreciated. :)

I highly doubt this is legal and do not want to get involved. This is called invasion of privacy and is a crminal offense.
 
yea, this is why the internet has firewalls and spyware. 500 dollars you would make is nowhere near what you will need to cover your court costs for invasion of privacy. plus, you dont even know why they want the information. could lead to bigger probs. take it from an officer, stay away from this situation :)
 
Well... the thing is... the server in which the forum is running off of can track the IP address of this person, and with an IP address, you can basically find out everything you need to know about the person (unless they're running through a proxy, of course).

LIH! no you can't, you can find out my ISP, then if you can get a court order you can get my name and adress, or else your ISP wont give it out.
 
With an IP you can find the general city of the person and what ISP they are using. You can use other methods like scanning open ports for http running or email pop3 accounts running... There are ways.
