512x2 or 0ne 1024? 2 sticks or 1?

building my a pc and unsure which route to take. I have Athlon XP3200,Asus A8N-sli,Raptor hard drive and was thinking of using 512 ram but now leaning towards 1 gig of ram. so whats better-2 stcks or 1? corsair 3200pro,xpert or?????? all i need is the ram i'm done

2 sticks lets you run your RAM in dual channel mode. This allows for imporved performance, so it's better.

Consider other brands besides Corsair, as they tend to be a tad over priced. OCZ, Mushkin, TeamGroup, Centon, are all good brands.

An Athlon XP 3200+ will not work with an Asus A8n-SLi motherboard. I assume you meant an AMD A64 3200+, otherwise you are pairing a s462 CPU with a s939 motherboard, and that's not compatible.

You are correct. I did mean the AMD A64 3200- 939.
