64bit processors

Hi all, Have got the ASUS P5GDC-V Motherboard and want to run XP x64, would it just be a case of getting a 64bit processor to run the x64edition, or would I need anything else? Any info would be much appreciated.

Naturally, you'll need 64bit drivers, etc...

I don't think your board supports 64bit processors. In that case, you'll need another one that does.

Actually, I believe it works with some 64-Bit Pentium 4 CPU's.

dont bother windows 64 bit is glitchy and you will into loads of issues when running programs and games

i use it for numerical computation and it is just as fast as 32 bit windows. games are just as fast.

64 bit is not 'glitchy' at all, and i have encountered no major issues in running it.

I wouldnt consider x86-64 to be glitchy, it's more of a compatibility issue. Since alot of drivers don't support 64-bit OS's yet, you may not get some hardware to work. And some games/apps dont run on 64-Bit OS's either.
