660 ti vs 7950

7950 competes with the 670. They are not even the same grade of card.

That aside, you are not asking the right question. What is your use for the card? If gaming, get the 7950. If you are doing direct compute applications, the 660ti will be better, but it is gimped anyway.

Just checked out this for less than the 7950 and they say its near on par near its as well!!

VTX3D Black Edition Radeon HD 7870 (Tahiti LE) OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card + 5 FREE GAMES!

The hd7870 tahiti le, is close to the gtx660 ti. The hd7950 should be a bit better though. What's your resolution? At 1080p, the gtx660ti gets close to the hd7950.

7870 xt is a verry good card, i know the brand onley by name but there are more.
i had a gigabyte gtx 660oc and now i have the 7870 xt.
oke that gtx that i had was more quit, but overall i find the 7870 xt the better gpu
yes its close to the gtx 660ti somtimes but in gaming i see most of the time a little win for the 7870 xt. and overclock it, lol.

Dont forget the 3 weekly driver support from nvidia. If you're getting sufficient FPS, or something else is a bottleneck, I would rather see a card with better drivers, released as games came out.

CUDA isn't just physx either, it also helps with CS5 or CS6 with video rendering etc.

It also overclocks nice.

I dunno, id swing to the green here.

I would get the 7950. If you were comparing a 660 ti and 7870, I would say the 660 ti, but the 7950 is closer to the 670 than the 660 ti.

the drivers are getting much better of amd, and the gxt 660 and the evga gtx 670 i had were very poor overclockers.
and for 2 monitors mayby in the future get the 7950.

i too agree with bigfella...id swing with the green too. 660ti. and for those who say that "amd drivers are getting better" or of the like, well, ive been on this forum for a little while now, about 3 years+, and people have been saying it since before back then that amd drivers will get better. well, its been years and you are still waiting to get better drivers. whatever with that hog wash. ive used both amd and nvidia cards, and hands down, the drivers for nvidia are on point. the amd cards ive used, 4890, 6950, 7770, and 7970, were okay/good, but when i compare them to the nvidia cards ive used, gtx 8800gt, 9800gtx+, gtx 260 core 216, gtx 470 sli, gtx 580, and gtx 670, all gave me a better gaming experienced when compared to the amd equavalant. in fact, i remember the gtx 260 core 216 giving me better framerates over the hd4890 in many titles like battlefeild 2, metro 2033, cod. and crysis 2. at 1080p, the gtx 660ti will do great. plus as stated before, it gives you cuda which will reduce render times in programs like adobe (most titles), and it gives you physx for games that support it, whichhelps too. either way you go, you will have a good gaming experience.

true, i just say having the gtx 660oc from gigabyte, and the evga gtx 670.
compared to the amd,s that i had, 6950/70 6780, asus top 7950, msi 7970, and now the joker 7870.
and on a smaller budget, i find the amd,s better, and yes the drivers are getting better, but nvidea,s drivers are better the say???
i had more truble with them dan with amd.
and we all now nvidea is most of the time faster, but amd is still good, and cheaper.
also watch my words looking like a game like max payne 3 that if u want full graphics takes more then 2gb, there will be more soon
