What would you say is better between the geforce 6600 and the radeon 9800.
Not the pro version, not the xt version, not the gt version, just the 6600 and 9800. Firstly disregarding price, then regarding price. Thankyou ! :)

Ok,i see you have the 6600, how well does it perform? and what games do u play

i play most games at 1024x768 with high datails but with no AA (for new games only)

6600 perform very well, but if u get 6600GT it will perform better and it will last u longer

i play games like FEAR, HL2, QUAKE4, doom3, COD2 and of themm runs smoothly at 1024x768 with high setting but just FEAR the only game that runs on medium setting for me.
and ofcourse i play them without AA because this effects performance greathly

Right ok, I always thought doom 3was the most graphic intense, but it seems that fear is. Just goes to show what I know :D

Doom 3 runs the best among the game i have listed above i can run it smoothly with 4x AA but usually i don't turn AA because i don't see a big difference with AA.

and i forget to tell u that my 6600 is a good overclocker aswell

Speaking of overclocking, I am very unexperienced in this field. Care to enlighten me?
I know the basics, like some cards overclock better than others, the lower you can keep the heat the more it will overclock (I think). But how do you do it, is it a special program? And how much difference can you get?
cheers

it works with nvidia card only
google it and u will find some info about it

and u can read some info on the link i posted above ^

- 6600 is a 8x3 pipe card running 300/275MHz card
- 9800 is a 4x2 pipe card 325/275
6600 is the better of the two

Do note that the 256MB model is clocked higher than the 128MB model

no, coolbits is only for nvidia cards. use atitool for ati cards

"You just wack up the speed"
there is more too it that that, you have to balance performance and heat.
too much heat and you get artifacting, which sucks.

as to how much overclocking helps, well it depends on the card, game, and heat.
i overclocked my old 9800pro (which im selling *cough*hint*cough*) and got about 10 fps higher in the stress test for counterstrike source.
