6600GT cooling

what would you lot say is the best budget hsf for a 6600GT (XFX if it matters). i just bought a new one and with summer heat waves, thought it would be smart to invest in a nice cooler before i save up for some airsoft equipment

i you do not overclock the card, the original cooler should be enough

even if you were overclocking i dont think you'd need a new cooler to go on it. i have a galaxy 6600gt and the thermal throttling is set to 127 degrees C by default, i'd get a bit concerned if you were getting towards the 70 degree mark tho

i had no plans to overclock......yet.......but this summer is going to be very hot, and over the weekend my whole computer temp shot up.

The Zalman VF700-Cu works well for me. If you don't plan on overclocking for now, I'd invest in better case fans first to make sure you've got good air circulation. Your video card isn't the only thing that generates heat.

i know, i have all spaces for fans in my case filled up. and j0hn00, ill look into the hsf, thnx

If you have the PCI slot next to your gfx card spare then a PCI exhaust is brilliant for that job, it draws the air from where your heatsink is on the gfx card. They are cheap aswell, a temporary solution if ever i saw one........

im gonna get one, but apparently they only take the temp down a couple of degrees

well i've got one and i saw the temp go down by about 10 degrees
