Whats better the 6600GT or the 7300GT, the 6600 has higher timings, but the 7300 has 256mb of memory so i dont know what ones better....need your opinions

AGP or PCI Express, they both should be basically the same. I'm quite sure the 6600GT is better over all, but both cards are rather low end anymore.

PCI Express x16

And i know there both low end cards now, but just a card to get me started for now until i can afford a good one.

If you overclock a video card and something goes wrong and it fries, will it just ruin the video card, or can it ruin other components of your pc?

I dont' think you'd be able to fry the video card that easilly. Worst case it'd just lock up your machine and such. As for devices failing(either overclocking or other reasons) They really shouldn't harm anything else in the computer, but you never know... I have had power supplies destory motherboards, and motherboards destory power supplies!

Ok, i was thinkin i would just get the 7300GT and overclock it to the 6600GT timings.

You cant add pipelines and raster ops to the 7300GT, it's not just about clocks.

The 6600GT would be the best gaming performer, however if you just watch movies and what not, the 7300GT would be better.

Both the 6600GT and 7300GT have 8 pipeline and the same number of Raster Operators

The 7300GT has more vertex pipelines than 6600GT, but 6600GT is over all better because it has higher clocks
