6600gt problems

hi i got a new 6600gt AGP card today and when i installed it i just get white lines running up the screen and then once it boots into windows my monitor goes off i have a 550w psu

any help please

can you test it on another machine? Might help narrow down our advice

Did you connect the extra power connector? (it's a molex on the top right of the PCB when installed)

yer i have connecteed that power supply

Could be a bad card then, consider RAM'ing it or returning it for a new one. Very unlikely that 2 computers share the same problem.

Compatibility issues? Motherboard only support the older AGP versions? 2-4x not 4-8x.

i had an agp 8x card before i bought my new graphics card so that aint a problem.

i have a new question now tho. i tried my card again yesterday and it worked fine i installed all the newest drivers from nvidia and everything was cool. this morning i turned on my PC and the blooming white lines were back again.

What I mean't was there are different AGP versions, and older that supports AGP 2-4X and a newer 4-8X which is a bit different, the 2-4X version mentioned isn't compatible with the newer cards.
