7 vs 8.1

My computer will mainly be used for gaming. What will work better 7 or 8.1? I would just go with 10 but it may not be out in May when I assemble my mega gaming machine. I have 7 Home edition already.

Would you just use 7 Home edition and wait for 10?

If you have a license that can be transferred to the new machine then just use 7. Windows 10 probably won't be out until October would be my guess.
