750GB HDD Partitioning

I'm getting my new computer soon and I'm not sure how I should partition it. Because of past experiences with hard disk space, I'm thinking about this:

for C - 150GB (Win7 64bit, program files) Note:150GB might seem extreme, but I don't want to have problem with space on C ever again.

for D - 600GB (Movies, games, music, documents)

How many partitions do you run and why?

My 298 gigabyte hard drive has three partitions:

About 35.5 gigabytes used for Windows XP
57 gigabytes for most of my main programs
About a 167 gigabyte partition for Flight Simulator X (if I ever decide to re-install it)
About 38.5 gigabytes is unpartitioned space that I do not use.

other than keeping the OS and programs and other files organized, why do you want to partition?

On my Netbook I just have one partition. On my Elitebook I have two, one for programs and the other for other files, it's the default for school they did 70 and 180 GB, I don't like it, although I can sort of see where it would come in handy.

If you are not sure how to manage multiple Partitions, I would just suggest not having any.

I like the Windows Partition just big enough for Windows, Programs, and about 6 gigs of empty space, but I know going into the install about how much space I use for programs from past experience.

I have 4 currently.

C: windows XP. 200 GB NTFS
D: Crunchbang 20 GB EXT4
E: Swap (CB) 1.5 GB unsure of filesystem
F: DATA, 250GB NTFS

I have the data partition because it can be read by windows and Linux, thus when I save stuff to it, I don't need to worry about what OS I was working in when I was using the file I need.
