750i Sata Problem

I recently upgraded to the 750i motherboard, and love it, my only problem right now is that the sata cables dont fully click into place when plugged into the moterboard, however, they click and lock into place when plugged into the hard drives. I called EVGA tech support, and the guy said I can RMA the board, and have a new one shipped to me before I ship my current one out.

Now, this may sound like a small problem, but with all the wire management and LAN parties that I go to, I don't want to take the chance of having them slip out, but I also don't mind checking them periodically.

I've tried the clip sata ports that came with the mobo and non clip ones that I have. I also have three hard drives plugged in, and am getting the same problem from all the ports on the mobo, and they plug in just fine when plugged into the hard drives.

Thanks.

If it isn't coming out, I guess it's fine... I wouldn't worry too much about it to be honest.

I'm going to order the board very soon, I'll let you know how mine are if you want?

Put some Jb Weld on it and call it good :P

It just depends whether you think they will fall out at lans and stuff. If you think it will be fine then leave it but if you think it will fall out then RMA it.

I think you should just go through all the hastle with RMAing it. You never know what else is wrong with the board.

I'll give it some time, I plan on overclocking my Graphic cards and my Processor, so if I run into a problem, I'll RMA it.

I plan on making the sata wires stiff, so they aren't prone to popping out.

Thanks.

The problem with the connectors fitting securely can be a big one. Sometimes, the latched version is too bulky and it wont fit at all, and sometimes the non-latched is too loose because when the connectors are being molded, the mold is "off" and the plastic is slightly irregular and causes it to slip.
You can check here for different versions:

Are there any tests I can do that can assure me the cables wont pop out when I move the case around, or when I organize the cables.

Would it be best if I have the cables organized to where you cant move the base of them when you poke them? Lol.

Thanks.

I'll try to zip tie it, I had the cables arranged to where it was difficult to wiggle the Sata wire when it was plugged into the Mobo, should I just stick with that?

Thanks.

Yeah, I'll see what works best, I plan on managing all of the cables when my Newegg shipment arrives.

Thanks.
