Like all graphic cards there is the GPU manufacturer (Nvidia), and the card maufacturer that actualy puts the card together (BFG, Asus, eVGA, MSI etc).
These manufacturers have partenerships with the chip makers, so they get money and so does Nvidia. So thats why.
