how come there are so many different brands??
is one brand better than the rest?
are there any other differences other than the price??

not gonna get one cuz i have a lappy, but just wonderin
 
Other brands just like to put their name on it, some have better fans, some look cooler, but generally they are all the same. I love the sapphire fans.
 
Brand usually determines the look of the card, the accessories/software it is bundled with, and what kind of cooling it comes with. Overclocking wise most of the "big" brands will do the same. Stay away from the newer brands until they are proven good, and small companies like FIC you should avoid because they often lock the cards BIOS to avoid overclocking, or jsut suck at overclocking.
 
BFG Tech overclocks them from:
Core 450 t0 460
Memory 1200 to 1300
But they also charge around 30 dollars more :P .
