Hi guys
I was thinking of getting this ram for my 790fx-gd70 motherboard http://www.techstore.co.uk/browse.php?a=p&prodLineID=154131 but as i don't tend to overclock much i'm struggling to find how to set the speed and voltage for the ram manually in the bios. There are a few questions which i have regarding doing this:
1)Is the voltage for this ram too high? as i have heard it can blow the intel i7 if the ram voltage is too high. I'm running a phenom 965 but i wanted to clear this matter up.
2)Is it just a case of highering the FSB and lowering the multiplier to the cpu so i can reach the ram speed but retain the cpu stock speed of 3.4ghz(or so i can overclock it to 3.8ghz)? Would i also have to lower the Pci-e link speed bus to the graphics card back to what it was before i increased the FSB?
3)can someone tell me what the ram voltage is called under cell menu as i think i know but wanted to make sure.
Thanks
Luke
