hello there

ive just got ahould of 2 gainward 7950gt grphics cards and i want to run them together, however-----

upon looking into my boards specs it says "CROSS FIRE" now i have 1 graphics card here installed and the other on its way!

i also have another 19" widescreen monitor on its way, i would like to link both cards up and dual monitor my setup!

how can this be possible as the cards are sli?

would i be able to run both monitor indipendantly-play cod 4 on one and have other screen on my other running programs?

thanx for your help

it wont work, SLI and Crossfire arnt compartible, so I think you'll have to get a new motherboard. (do you even have a SLI-bridge? because those only come with the motherboard aswell. crossfire bridges come with the grafic's cards)

also, SLI doesnt support 2 monitors. (crossfire does)

In other words, go the ATi way... right Arch? :D

And anyways, I don't think 2 x 7950GT are worth it right now, unless you bought the second card used or at a low price...

yeh second card was £30....

i got my sli bridge with other motherboard!

but is it possible to run 2 cards with out linking them using sli or crossfire?

i thought that there would be a way to make them owrk independantly!!!

if not what sort of price would i be looking at paying for 2 cards that are roughly the same standards as the 7950gt?

I think you can run two independently, and have two monitors, if they aren't in SLI that is. But, you won't get the performance of the two cards.

I think all you need to do is put them in and plug each monitor into each card ;)

Shame about the SLI though :(

You can pretty much do that just as well with one card. To configure I think you just connect two cables to the card then go to display options.
