800x600 and 4bit only on xp

hi
my daughter called me from denver..she changed her screen rez and now she gets a sync out of range message when booting up.has winxp...she has an intel graphics chip r82845g graphics controller..can boot up in safe mode..can't change color depth...and only 640x480 or 800x 600 selectable,,color depth stuck at 4bits.....no check or yellow check marks on device manager..help:confused:
 
Boot back into safe mode and do a system restore back to before she changed her resolution. Find out what monitor she has and look up what the max resolution is and don't go past that size.
