8500gt or Diamond ATI X1950pro

I just got a new computer and I put a nvidia 8500gt 512mb card in it (Believe me I would have like a 8800gt but this is what I'm stuck with). It seems to run okay, but many people are telling me that my old card a Diamond ATI X1950pro 512mb is better. My new comuter is a windows xp with intel core 2 duo E6750 2.66GHz. 2 gigs of ram. Also, if the 1950pro is the better card I think I will need a new psu becuase it needs 450-500 watts and mine only has 350w. If that is the case can someone please suggest a good psu. I would just like to know what card would be better for the higher end games I play like supreme commander, company of heroes, and call of duty 4. Thanks.

X1950pro is much better than HD3650 in gaming as well

HD3650 is great video card for multimedia but in gaming it sucks. It is even worse than 8600GT and HD2600XT from what I heard
 
I am really not looking at buying a whole new video card already. Because my spare computer is mostly just for internet I will put the 8500gt in there. I'm sure I will be very pleased with the performance I get with the 1950pro and a new psu. One of the reasons the 1950pro did not work well with my old computer was because it was really being held back. I had a pentium 4 2.8ghz and 1.5 gigs of ram. It only had a 400w psu and I'm sure it really just couldn't do its full potential. My dad really did not know though when he got it for me and the computer store really should have warned him that it was not going to function right.
 
Yeah, if you still have the pro, it wouldn't be prudent to buy a new card quite yet. Regarding that last bit; ha, yeah. Computer stores selling pre-built computers are usually more interested in turning a quick profit than insuring against bottlenecks and such. If you ever have doubts, or should your father, give us a holler, more than happy to help here.
 
Becuase after the holidays the prices on everything came down so low I decided to get it over with and update now. I finally settled on this and ordered everything.

After all the rebates and trading in of the 8500gt it comes to a total of $355. I consider that pretty good considering the computer guy I know was trying to get $500 out of me for all of that.
