can I over clock my 8600GT core clock more than 700 mhz without Vmood ??
some one overclocked the 8600GT core to 1GHZ :eek:HERE an article about that

Well it runs at 540MHz stock, and because I don't have any personal experience with the 8600GT I don't know how overclock friendly it is, however after reading that article I wouldn't doubt it that you could reach 700MHz core clock without volt modding it. The only way to know for sure though is to test it.

yess I can get 700mhz on my 8600GT DDR2 with no problems that beat the default coreclock of the 8600gts !!! great
but I dont know what will happen when I pass the 700mhz core ?

haha, if you overclock it too high then the computer will either lock up or reboot, but no physical harm done.

are you sure of that !!!
I remember my old FX5200 core was physically damaged, so I become very afraid of overclocking my cards

How did you damage it?

If you raise the clock speeds too high the computer should just lock up, I've never had a card that actually was damaged simply by changing the clocks.

Every bit of 2FPS? Surely more - 540 to 700 is a 130% increase.

I really don't know anything about it though.

Can somebody explain what the core, the memory clock and the shader clock do? And which are best to OC?

And how can I find out to what point it is safe to OC and volt mod? I wouldn't mind getting a little more out of my card - but it doesn't OC for shit.

GT's go WAY higher. Except for the mem clock - but the other 2 are dwarfed by GT OCs that I have seen.
