i have just purchased a bfg 8800gts for my computer. but after 10 min of playing a game or watching a movie, the computer completely shuts off. it says i need a 12v current rating of 28A or more for the card. i bought the power supply about a year and a half ago. extreme power 600w from cool master. it has a +3.3v 28A, +5V 30A, +12V1 18A, +12V2 18A, -5V .8A, -12V .8A, 5Vsb 2.0A. I dont know what it means but is my card getting enough juice from the supply and its shutting of the computer or could it be something else? thanx

Then the PSU is probably faulty. Anytime a PSU makes weird noises you should probably buy a new one. I would. A faulty PSU can destroy a system.

If it started making wierd noises i would consider buying a new one, they shouldn't destroy a system because of over voltage protection but that doesn't always work..
